About Larry Shapiro, Ph.D.

Dr. Shapiro is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and authorized to practice in the 42 PSYPACT member states (https://psypact.org/mpage/psypactmap). He has been a practicing psychologist for over 30 years.

He started Quantum Behavioral, LLC as a 100% telehealth private practice in 2022 to meet the growing need for flexible therapy options in the face of changes in workplace, school, and home environments . Though licensed to see people in person in Missouri and New Jersey, he sees patients across the country as a member of PsyPact.

Dr. Shapiro is sought out for his common-sense, practical, solution-focused style based in principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy.


In addition to his full-time clinical practice, Dr. Shapiro is an Adjunct Instructor of Psychiatry at Washington University School of Medicine where he lectures to future psychiatrists on cognitive-behavioral strategies to address obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, interviewing skills, and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. Also at Washington University, Dr. Shapiro is a lead therapist at the Healthy Mind Lab, studying the effects of psychedelic medicine on mental health challenges and is a clinical advisor for the Center for Holistic Interdisciplinary Research in Psychedelics (CHIRP).
